Business Development and Brand Building Project

Berklee is the world's largest independent music college and the premier institution for the study of contemporary music serving over 4,000 students with 460 faculty. Berklee alumni include John Mayer, Quincy Jones, Melissa Etheridge, Donald Fagen, Arif Mardin, Patty Larkin, John Scofield, Alan Silvestri, Kevin Eubanks, Paula Cole, Natalie Maines and Branford Marsalis. 

The project was to increase the visibility of Berklee and develop new revenue streams in the process. 

Phase 1 - Berklee Press Publishing 

Phase 2 - Berkleemusic Online Music School


The first phase was to research the opportunites for Berklee and develop a plan to reach its goals. We decided to invest in a music education publishing business, called Berklee Press.

The business plan was developed, the team was hired and the business grew to a profitable enterprise delivering over 150 new titles that reflected the curriculum of the college and the talents of its faculty.

Berklee Press has become a thriving business for Berklee.

Music Books and DVDs from Berklee

The second phase of the project was to establish the premier online music school in the world.  After several years, the Berkleemusic.com online music school is a fantastic success serving over 6,000 student from over 90 different countries.

The online school is growing at a 250% rate and is becoming a significant contributor to the overall college revenue.
